The YWAM Lusaka community together

Join staff

We have various opportunities for people to serve with us on a long-term or short-term basis. All positions are volunteer positions.

YWAM does not pay its staff. Most of our staff meet their financial needs by partnering with friends, family and churches — and the base community is here to help you learn that walk of faith.

Current volunteer areas include administration, bookkeeping and communications; DTS and other school staff; primary school teachers; and clinic team members and qualified medical personnel.

Application process

From application to arrival

  1. Apply online

Fill out the staff application form. Tell us about your walk with God, your training, and the practical skills you can offer the base.

  2. We get in touch

We review your application and correspond about placement, timing and what serving at Lusaka looks like for you.

  3. Secure your visa

All international volunteers must enter Zambia on a business visa — we will point you to what you need before you book travel.

  4. Arrive at the base

Settle into community rhythm at Mungwi Road: orientation, meeting the staff family, and starting in your team.

Wondering where you would stay? Rooms at the base are available for staff and long-term volunteers — see Read more.

Staff FAQ

The Discipleship Training School is YWAM's entry point, and most long-term staff roles build on it. If you haven't done one yet, tell us where you're at — the DTS at Lusaka may be your first step.

All volunteers must enter the country on a business visa. The application form asks about this, and we'll help you with the details once you're accepted.
